I really enjoy and have a passion for teaching preschool children. My take on teaching that age group is you must be patient with the children and be willing to put in the extra effort needed to help start their learning career. This is especially true with special needs children, since they also have goals that they need to accomplish (this gets overlooked many times). Working to develop special needs children takes patience, but it is super rewarding to know that a child is learning even if it is one step at a time. I believe you must have a special place in your heart for young children with special needs…and I have just that. Also, I believe that you need to have fun with the children through their learning. If you don’t have fun, the children are not going to want to learn. Therefore, my perspective on why I want to teach young pre-school children is that, I have the passion, the heart and the desire that every child regardless of capability gets what they need to learn.
